New VGM declaration requirement starting June 2, 2025

Dear Customers,

As of June 2, 2025, the entry of containers into the port terminals of Le Havre will be subject to a new regulation: the declaration of the VGM (Verified Gross Mass) will become mandatory, regardless of the mode of transport (road, river, or rail.)

ABOUT THE VGM

Who must declare the VGM?

  • The shipper or their authorized representative.

Where and when should it be declared?

  • On the S)One platform.
  • No later than 1 hour before the container enters the terminal, regardless of the mode of transport.

IMPORTANT : No declaration = Container refused

If the VGM is not declared, the container will be refused at the terminal gate and the carrier will have to leave with the container, which may:

  • Incur additional costs (rescheduling, detention, parking, etc.),
  • Prevent the container from being loaded onto the scheduled vessel.

The VGM weight, certified and unique as defined by SOLAS, will be frozen upon terminal entry and cannot be modified thereafter.

ANTICIPATION IS KEY
